Miss Addison - 1 Month Old!

Today is January 20, 2013...and I can't hardly believe that Miss Addison is already 1 month old!  It feels like such a long time ago that we were in the hospital ready for her to arrive - yet, the time has flown by with her!

Brandon and I are amazed by the things Addy has already learned.  She tracks us with her eyes and turns toward sounds.  She has the funniest facial expressions and can recognize both our voices.  She cries when she needs something, but is so mild mannered and easily calms down when she hears her song (maybe we will record it sometime - good thing she doesn't care what we sound like!)  She LOVES her bath time, has started to suck her thumb, and is holding her head up like a champ!  She is such a joy in our lives and is so smart!!!  (***First time mom - it's okay for me to brag on my own blog!)

In her first month, Addison has been on TV, slept through her "First Christmas", had first trips to Panera and Lululemon, cheered Bama to victory in her first National Championship Game, played dress up with her Auntie T, Auntie K, & Mimi, survived her first few "Mommy Fails", and started to show signs of smiling!  We are having such a ball!

All because 2 people fell in love...
The other day, Brandon made the mistake of saying to me, "Geez - this first month flew by.  We are going to blink and she'll be starting school, then graduating, then..........."  I was a crying maniac at that point - I didn't hear what else he said.

We are just cherishing every sweet moment with this sweet little peanut and looking forward to this month to come!

First "Bathy"

Brandon and I call bath time "bathy" - and Miss Addy LOVES it!  She lounges in the warm water, doesn't mind getting her head or face wet, and (I can already tell) will LOVE the water in the future just like her Mommy does!

First Bathy!
LOVES getting hair washed!
LOVES when Daddy "busts" her hair!
The cutest little shark!
So blessed with such a good little baby!
SO CUTE!

Miss Addison Nicole's Birthday!

It's been 3 1/2 weeks since Miss Addison was born and we have been having a *tiresome* ball with her!  She is such a sweet little peanut, mild mannered, and has already brought so much joy to our lives.

The day before she was born started as normal.  Thankfully, I didn't have to work!  I had felt well my entire pregnancy - but was definitely ready to have a baby instead of being pregnant!!!

On 12/19/12 (2 days before my due date), we had an OB appointment in the morning.  Everything was right on track and the doctor suspected labor would happen fairly soon!  That afternoon, we ended up at Labor and Delivery for evaluation - and I was shocked to find that what I had been feeling WAS contractions (they didn't hurt at that point) and they were coming every 3-6 minutes!  We were admitted at that time and knew Addison would be arriving soon (or so we thought!).

39 Weeks and 5 Days - Later that day, labor began!

Soon after we were admitted, my OB doctor visited us.  She broke my water, started some pitocin, and got my epidural ordered!  I was all about getting the epidural that day, but unfortunately, both my first and repeat epidural didn't take very well.

After 19 hours of labor and 2 hours of pushing, Miss Addison Nicole finally arrived!!!

On the way home!!!
Addison arrived with 10 fingers, 10 toes, and was as healthy as could be.  We were so thankful that both our families were able to be there once she was born - she is so loved already!!!  Brandon and I are blessed beyond words can describe!!!
