Miss Addison - 7 Months Old!

Our Little Peanut is growing up way too fast!!!

Miss Addison is now 7 months old and army crawling all over the place.  She is still as happy as ever and the mild mannered little girl that she was when she was born.  She is surpassing all her pediatric milestones and is such a smart little one!  She has two lower teeth in and loves chewing on anything she can put in her mouth.  Her favorite foods are Garden Vegetables and Fruit flavored oatmeal.  She is trying to learn how to drink from a sippy cup now.  She sometimes says "Mama" and "Dada" but doesn't know what these mean yet...  She hasn't lost a single strand of hair - in fact, it keeps growing!  Little Peanut still has the prettiest blue eyes and reddish locks of hair.

Miss Addison - 2 Months Old!

Miss Addison is 2 Months Old!

Holy cow...where has time gone?  Have I really been on maternity leave for 10 weeks already?

Miss Addison turned 2 months old on 2-20-12...I am a few days late posting this.  My goodness, she has learned SO much this month!  Last month, we were just seeing a hint of a smile - now she is a smiling maniac.  We are now catching some early giggles.  She still LOVES her bath and sometimes falls asleep laying in the tub.  She is cooing all the time and "tells us stories" (that's what we call it anyway!).  She is sleeping well at nighttime and only wakes up one time to eat.  She is a happy baby and we LOVE her to pieces!

In the past month, Miss Addy has had TWO parties for her (THANK YOU Mimi & Grandaddy, Auntie K & Auntie T, Lala & Pac, and Uncle Shane & Aunt Michelle!), had her first airplane ride and seven hour road trip, had an ultrasound of her hips (which came back normal), got to meet her Great-Grandparents (Great Grandaddy, Nana & Gramps), and had her passport photos taken.  We are heading to Cayman in 2 weeks and cannot wait for Addison to get to the beach for the first time!

Miss Addison - 1 Month Old!

Today is January 20, 2013...and I can't hardly believe that Miss Addison is already 1 month old!  It feels like such a long time ago that we were in the hospital ready for her to arrive - yet, the time has flown by with her!

Brandon and I are amazed by the things Addy has already learned.  She tracks us with her eyes and turns toward sounds.  She has the funniest facial expressions and can recognize both our voices.  She cries when she needs something, but is so mild mannered and easily calms down when she hears her song (maybe we will record it sometime - good thing she doesn't care what we sound like!)  She LOVES her bath time, has started to suck her thumb, and is holding her head up like a champ!  She is such a joy in our lives and is so smart!!!  (***First time mom - it's okay for me to brag on my own blog!)

In her first month, Addison has been on TV, slept through her "First Christmas", had first trips to Panera and Lululemon, cheered Bama to victory in her first National Championship Game, played dress up with her Auntie T, Auntie K, & Mimi, survived her first few "Mommy Fails", and started to show signs of smiling!  We are having such a ball!

All because 2 people fell in love...
The other day, Brandon made the mistake of saying to me, "Geez - this first month flew by.  We are going to blink and she'll be starting school, then graduating, then..........."  I was a crying maniac at that point - I didn't hear what else he said.

We are just cherishing every sweet moment with this sweet little peanut and looking forward to this month to come!

First "Bathy"

Brandon and I call bath time "bathy" - and Miss Addy LOVES it!  She lounges in the warm water, doesn't mind getting her head or face wet, and (I can already tell) will LOVE the water in the future just like her Mommy does!

First Bathy!
LOVES getting hair washed!
LOVES when Daddy "busts" her hair!
The cutest little shark!
So blessed with such a good little baby!
SO CUTE!

Miss Addison Nicole's Birthday!

It's been 3 1/2 weeks since Miss Addison was born and we have been having a *tiresome* ball with her!  She is such a sweet little peanut, mild mannered, and has already brought so much joy to our lives.

The day before she was born started as normal.  Thankfully, I didn't have to work!  I had felt well my entire pregnancy - but was definitely ready to have a baby instead of being pregnant!!!

On 12/19/12 (2 days before my due date), we had an OB appointment in the morning.  Everything was right on track and the doctor suspected labor would happen fairly soon!  That afternoon, we ended up at Labor and Delivery for evaluation - and I was shocked to find that what I had been feeling WAS contractions (they didn't hurt at that point) and they were coming every 3-6 minutes!  We were admitted at that time and knew Addison would be arriving soon (or so we thought!).

39 Weeks and 5 Days - Later that day, labor began!
My excitement heading to the hospital

Soon after we were admitted, my OB doctor visited us.  She broke my water, started some pitocin, and got my epidural ordered!  I was all about getting the epidural that day, but unfortunately, both my first and repeat epidural didn't take very well.

After 19 hours of labor and 2 hours of pushing, Miss Addison Nicole finally arrived!!!

Addison arrived with 10 fingers, 10 toes, and was as healthy as could be.  We were so thankful that both our families were able to be there once she was born - she is so loved already!!!  Brandon and I are blessed beyond words can describe!!!

Addy's Daddy

I am so blessed to have Brandon in my life - and I wanted to post a special blog about how lucky Addison will be to have him as her daddy!  Below are just a few of the reasons I (*WE*) love him so much!!!

I have been lucky enough to have a husband that has been able to attend EVERY SINGLE OB appointment with me!
He might need me to read directions to him, but he gladly spends Football Sundays building cribs!
Addy's Daddy with the finished product!  We LOVE our crib!
Brandon put together our sweet beach sign that my dad, Coco, made!!!
Brandon lets his office be overtaken by a Baby Girl's Nursery!
He rubs my sore feet and swollen ankles after long ER shifts!
He learns how to change diapers at a Newborn Baby class...
Add how to hold/cuddle/console...
And how to swaddle...
He gets our cars ready for Addison's arrival (with Wrigley's help)!

He tests out baby products for safety and comfort....
And he is just one excited Daddy!
A wedding week throw-back!
Brandon has already far exceeded my expectations of a dad - and all this before Addison has even arrived.  There are so many other instances - the home cooked meals, the cleaning up, the prepping for baby, the running errands, the taking care of Wrigley, the taking care of ME - that haven't even been documented on camera.  He even thought of getting me a gift from Addison for my birthday a few weeks ago.

Without being sappy and corny - actually, heck, I don't care - he is the GREATEST thing that has ever happened to me and I thank my lucky stars every day that I met him.  (Side note:  If he had a blog, I'm SURE he'd say the same about me!!!  HA!)  I am so excited to be sharing this pregnancy journey with him by my side - and I can't wait to see the look on his face when we first get to see our beautiful baby girl!

I love you, Brandon!!!
