April 15, 2012 - Pregnancy Test #1 POSITIVE!!! |
Well, Brandon and I are SO, SO, SO HAPPY to announce that WE ARE PREGNANT!!!
This is something we had thought about for quite a while...and something that was completely planned! We are so darn excited...and so excited to now be able to share the wonderful news!
April 15, 2012 - Pregnancy Tests #2-5 POSITIVE! |
Brandon's family was in town the weekend we found out we were pregnant. Unfortunately, they were already on the road for an hour heading back home when we found out!!! (Sorry Wright family!) I had woken up Sunday morning feeling really sick - which is really unusual for me - and made me think that I might have been pregnant. However, tests on Friday and Saturday had both been negative (or so I thought) so I wasn't expecting anything new. When the family left, even though I had told myself to wait a few days before checking again (I'm a doctor - I knew I should wait another 48 hours) - I couldn't help myself.... But, this time it was POSITIVE!!! I ran to check the test that had now been sitting overnight in the trashcan and, whoops, it was POSITIVE too! Word to the wise - make sure you wait a FULL 3 MINUTES before interpreting a pregnancy test!
We were able to call both our families that day back in April and everyone was SO EXCITED! Thankfully, the morning of April 15 has been the ONLY day I have felt sick! (Knock on wood!)
April 23, 2012 - First Appointment with Nurse Practitioner at OB office |
May 2, 2012 - First Ultrasound!!! |
It is SO NICE to have such wonderful friends who happen to be OB physicians as well! Brandon and I were at home visiting family when we got the opportunity to pop over to Dr. Hoegh's office for our first "unofficial" ultrasound. I fully expected to see a gestational sac and not much else - when to my amazement, we found a perfectly beating heart and actually got to hear it too!!! It brings tears to my eyes to remember the moment we first heard and saw the heartbeat! I was so lucky to have my Mom, Dad, and Kasey get to be there with Brandon and I for this special moment!
THANKS DR. HOEGH!!!
May 2012 - Baby Blanket in progress |
In May, we started to share the news with our family. This makes the first grandchild and great-grandchild on my side of the family and the second for Brandon's side.
We have such wonderful family!!!
June 5, 2012 - OB Appointment with Dr. Shepherd |
On our 3rd Anniversary, we had our first appointment with our OB physician here in Ohio - Dr. Shepherd. She came highly recommended by close friends of mine and we knew we couldn't go anywhere else. We were NOT disappointed! She was SO NICE and even rearranged her schedule to accommodate my crazy resident schedule. We had our first "official" ultrasound and couldn't believe how much has changed since last we looked! The baby was doing headstands, flips, and hiccuping throughout the ultrasound. It was SO CUTE!!! We saw two arms, two legs, a big brain, and a healthy heart! So far, so good!
June 7, 2012 - Surprise! We're pregnant! |
On June 7, we decided that since we had made it to the 12th week and the baby was looking good, it was time to share the news with our extended family and all our friends! We have been overwhelmed with all the wonderful comments and messages we have received! Thank you all....for the prayers and kind words....they have meant the world to us!!!
Brandon and I are so happy to start into this next journey of our marriage. Our first 3 years has been the best time of my whole life and I am lucky to get to share this time with Brandon by my side.
Here's to our Little Baby Wright!!!!

so exciting for YOU...I, too, did the impatient pitch the test in the trash thing with Drew. To later find it had been positive. :) I think I did about 10 tests with Tommy I couldn't BELIEVE it was true.
This baby will be so blessed and SO loved...
Hope you start to feel better soon. I predict baby girl. But, of course, love baby BOYS so much too. Will you find out?
and Hoegh...our favorite. He delivered Jack and Max....called his cell for Max since my water broke and the planned csection wasn't working out as I planned and I wanted it to be him.
