Invitations in the Mail!!!

Envelopes have been stuffed, sealed, and stamped!!! All 250...and all by myself! Good thing I am semi-OCD and will sit there until they are done! They went out in the mail today...and we are so excited!!!

He's the Best!

Brandon is the best!

He has spent all day today calling places and apartments in Columbus, Ohio trying to find us a place to live! He has spent hours talking on the phone with countless people - working all kinds of angles - and finding all the best deals.

We still have to find a time to go visit Columbus...but at least we will have a good start once we get there!

Romantic Table for Two!

I just booked our private "night after we get married" table!!! We figured that since rehearsal dinner and wedding dinner are with everyone, we ought to make a reservation for just the two of us!!! We'll be the only ones outside on the ocean!!! I can't wait!

Bridesmaids Dresses Ordered

Just got back from the islands and got a lot accomplished while there!!!

1) Met with The Wharf (location of ceremony/dinner)
2) Met with the harpist playing at my wedding
3) Met with the flower shop
4) Met with the photographer
5) Met with the videographer
6) Booked a condo for our wedding night until the end of the trip

And once I got home:
1) Received the wedding invitations and they look AWESOME
2) Ordered bridesmaid dresses
3) Tried on my wedding dress again - just for fun.

And hopefully tomorrow I will be picking up Brandon's ring that just got done!

Phew - I'm tired!!!

Brandon is in town! YIPPEE!

Brandon has been in town for a week now...and we are having a wonderful time!

We've been awfully busy though...

We're working on wedding invitations, deciding on a reception menu, meeting with realtors, figuring out residency contracts, and trying to enjoy some free time....all at the same time!

Tonight we are going out to dinner with one of my best friends from high school and her husband. This will be the first time Brandon has met them and I can't wait!

Wedding Dress

My wedding dress came in last weekend and I am SO EXCITED!

We still need to get the bridesmaid dresses ordered....but everything is slowly coming together!

I am OFFICIALLY an Emergency Medicine resident!!!!

Brandon and I can't wait to start our new life in Columbus, Ohio - our first choice program!!!

Save the Date

Wedding plans are coming along!!!

Brandon was in town last weekend for the Rally Against Cancer - a benefit we do each year - and ended up getting stranded here an extra day due to weather delays. Fortunately (for me), our Save the Date cards had arrived and all that needed to be done was printing and stuffing envelopes. Unfortunately for Brandon....it meant he was here to help me!!! We got all 220+ envelopes printed and stuffed in about 2 hours! Most of them have been sent out now.....and we can't wait!

Next on the agenda.....lifesize palm trees for the reception!

Updates

A lot has happened since my last post - I can't hardly believe it has been this long!

Brandon and I have decided we are getting married on June 5 in the Cayman Islands and we can't wait! We've got the venue picked out - The Wharf - which will be absolutely beautiful! We are planning to get married on the private beach along 7 mile Beach and then heading up to the restaurant for dinner.

Our first reception is going to be June 13 in Des Moines....and we still have a little planning to do for that. We've got the venue...but food (IMPORTANT) still needs to be decided. Whatever it may be, we are going to have ONE AWESOME NIGHT!!!

A few days after our reception, Brandon and I will be getting packed up and moving to Columbus, OH where I will be starting an Emergency Medicine Residency. We are very nervous to be leaving our families...but know this is going to be a great growing experience for our new marriage.

As soon as we get settled in Columbus and I get my schedule for the year, we will be planning our other reception in Chattanooga, TN. Again, we know that everyone will have an excellent time!!!

Life Decisions

Boy and I have been talking a lot lately about our future. Since I'm in medical school and will be applying to residency soon, it is nerve-wrecking trying to decide where to apply and how to rank all the choices. Basically, Boy and I will have to submit our requests in January 2009....and on February 9, 2009, I receive a letter in the mail stating, "Congratulations - you are going to _________!" Scary...because it is a 3-4 year commitment!!!

Everything will all work out how it's supposed to in the end - but I think we are both nervous along the way!
