We've made it to Riviera Maya, Mexico! Hard to believe that nearly one year has passed since Brandon and I said "I do!" We've had such a wonderful year and are so excited to get to celebrate our one year anniversary together here in Mexico! We're staying at an all-inclusive resort, which so far, has exceeded our expectations when it comes to customer service. Everything here is done first class. We'll do our best to keep you guys updated on our daily adventures!
When we arrived at the airport today, we were met by a very nice chauffer, who drove us in a pimped out, fully loaded (DVD player included) Expedition. We were greeted with ice cold towels and drinks before leaving the airport parking lot!
As we pulled into the resort, more staff was waiting for us - who each greeted us by name and welcomed us to Zoetry. They had cold drinks waiting for us and wouldn't let us carry any bags. We had a tour of the resort before heading to our room.

We fell asleep pretty quickly once we hit the beach. (Which explains why I don't have other pictures to share yet!!!)
We miss our friends and family, but are sure lucky to get to spend these 10 days, just the two of us, in such a beautiful place!

Softball Season is BACK!
Brandon's softball season started today, so Wrigley and I took a trip to the ballpark. It was such a beautiful day and we really enjoyed being outside!
Wrigley is B's biggest fan!!!
Last year, Brandon showed up to his first game and sat the bench. Oh, man, we laughed so hard at that situation! He was the only college player there and they sat him! Thankfully, he started this season!!!

Got off a little early from work today...and I was so happy because LOOK HOW BEAUTIFUL IT IS HERE! The sun is shining, it's 88 degrees, and a perfect day for a walk along the river (with our new camera, of course!).

A Wright Family Update
Has it really been this long???
I always have such great intentions to keep up with our blog, but then life gets the best of me and I stay away too long! I'll try not to do that again (although I know I will!)...
Needless to say, we have been QUITE busy since the New Year!
At the end of January, B and I flew to Iowa for the Rally Against Cancer. The guest speaker this year was Coach Mike Ditka...and it was the best event we've ever had. Well over 1 million dollars has been raised for the local cancer center and I couldn't be more proud of the Head Coaches of the event...my Mom and Dad!
In February, we had a great visit from Brandon's family! They hadn't been here since we moved in so we were SO EXCITED they came! Our place is much more "lived in" since the last time they saw it...they were here the day after we moved in!
Since they don't see much snow in Tennessee, they were all excited to "hit the slopes" for some sledding. Wrigley even got in on the action!
We were excited that Shane and Michelle were able to join us as well!
Then in March, B and I went back to Grand Cayman with my family. We flew in 2 days earlier than the rest of them, so enjoyed our time relaxing in the place we got married only 9 months before. We were happy to have Garrett and Sam join us on the island!
One of our traditions is cliff diving at Pedro's.
A new tradition is picking up fish from the local fish market in downtown Georgetown. Man alive, when Sam grilled those things up....YUMMY. That's all you can say!
Another "first" for us this year was jet-skiing out to Stingray City. Although I have been to Stingray City more than 10 times, this was BY FAR the BEST way to get there! I would HIGHLY RECOMMEND this for anyone going to Grand Cayman. We had a BLAST!
We fed the tarpon at the Wharf....but B and I had to have our picture under the sign. This is the restaurant where we got married June 5, 2009!
Of course we did some diving...
And some beach time...
For some reason, this photo makes me laugh every time. We don't know this dog. He was just there. And he sure likes posing!
When we returned to the "Real World" from the "Dream World", B and I decided we needed a new camera. We both like photography...and since we are taking our Honeymoon trip in May, we thought there was no better time to get one. We picked out the Nikon D5000...and, so far, couldn't be happier! Below are just a few pictures of us messing around with our new camera!
Tonight is Easter Eve, so we took the surprise Easter Basket sent from the Easter bunny in Iowa (Thanks Mom!!!) and decorated Easter Eggs.
We miss our family and friends!!!

Taylor Update
Taylor is still having a wonderful time! She is now in Zambia and in action with GU SIFE. A few nights ago they visited a Graceland Alumnus, Kabinga Pande. Coincidentally, Kabinga was my tennis teammate while I was at Graceland! His family opened their home to the SIFE team and Taylor said it was a great evening!
Graceland is such a small community which reaches far across the world.

Lions & Tigers & Bears...OH MY!
Well, Taylor made it safely to Africa and she is having a GREAT TIME!
The GU SIFE team flew into South Africa and stayed the first few days in Johannesburg at what appears to be a really nice place when looking at this picture.
Taylor explained that they don't have locks on the doors there...so, instead, she and her friends put a door jam in the door to protect their things. By the end of the first day there, the jam had already been stolen by one of the workers.....geez!
They also went on a "mini" Safari in an enclosed area. Taylor said they rode in a van but were told to keep all the windows closed the entire time. Apparently an Asian couple had done this tour a few years ago and didn't follow these directions - they were pulled from the car by lions, mauled, and killed. I guess lions don't like Chinese food? ***ba da dum.....thanks for the joke, dad!***
Taylor says they rolled the windows down.
She got some great pictures on her camera...and was later able to take a picture of the picture with her cell phone to send to us. This is how close they got to the lions....this one is Mufasa...
They also went to this African petting zoo type thing before the safari. Taylor said they had little baby lions there that they got to play with. She said they were like GIANT kittens! I guess they were going after her shoes....she said they would roar and it was so cute!
She also got to feed this giraffe. I don't think I have ever been to a zoo that let me get THIS CLOSE to a giraffe...I LOVE giraffes! Taylor said after she fed it, it licked her face.
She is having a once in a lifetime experience there and is really loving her time. Today they are flying to Zambia and spending time at Victoria falls.

My Blog Has Been Hijacked by Family!!!
They haven't really hijacked my blog...but they are doing some great things today...while I am stuck working, reading, and sitting at home! Wahhhhhh waaaaaahhhhhhhh
Taylor, my youngest sister, left for Zambia today with the Graceland SIFE team. She was elected as one of six people to go to Africa for 3 weeks during winter term to work with young kids. She was nervous, but very excited. I believe her nervousness went away when she got on the plane..... she texted me with this picture, saying "We got blankets, pillows, socks, headphones, eye masks, toothpaste, and toothbrushes!" Just like another Christmas! I will try to keep you all updated on her adventures while she is there!
In other news, my middle sister, Kasey, has been down in Florida with her boyfriend Sam's family. Being that he was the former running back for Iowa (if you were watching the big game tonight, you would have heard his name mentioned with 1:49 left in the first half), she scored some tickets to the Orange Bowl. Here is when she was making me jealous upon her entry to the field....
And now with the view from her seats......30 yard line, first deck!!!!

Happy New Year!
What do you do when it's New Year's Eve and there is snow on the ground in Ohio? You take your dog sledding!!! It doesn't even matter that you're 28 years old!
Although Wrigley loves the snow, she is not quite used to sledding just yet...
